Pardon or amnesty?

Everyone is talking pardon and amnesty. Politicians and media people use them as if they were interchangeable. In law, the two is as different as black and white. What’s the difference?

  1. Di ba, pardon is for people convicted of criminal offenses, while amnesty are for people convicted of political “offenses”? That’s why Trillanes is qualified for amnesty, while Erap is not, kasi plunder ang kaso ni Erap, di naman political.
